Binghamton's Time Payment
Plan is designed to assist students and families who may find it difficult
to pay the total semester bill by the mail-in deadline date. The total
semester bill consists of the educational expenses (tuition, fees, room
and board) not covered by financial aid and therefore due directly to
the Student Accounts Office.
|
Eligibility
- ALL
students who wish to participate in our Time Payment Plan (TPP) are
eligible to enroll. Detailed
calculations for the Time Payment Plan are automatically pre-calculated
on the Semester E-bill on-line. To enroll in the plan, read the
terms to the right "Time Payment Plan Agreement" and complete the payment
of the initial amount (downpayment). The University reserves the right
to deny future payment plan privileges if payments are
not made as scheduled.
Cost
- The Time Payment Plan is available each
semester at a cost of $35.00 per semester of enrollment. This
fee is nonrefundable once you have enrolled in the plan.
Contract
- If you choose to participate in the
plan, you will be required to pay 25% of your total semester bill, including
the Time Payment Plan fee, by the bill due date. The remaining 75% may
be paid in three equal installments during the semester. [Plan = 4 PAYMENTS
for the semester: 25% each].
If you are awarded new or additional financial aid in the form of loans
contact the Student Accounts Office to adjust or cancel the contract.
If no contact is made late fees will apply.
-
-
Method of Payment
- Payments will
be accepted in cash (if in person) by e- check, Visa or Mastercard,
American Express or Discover Cards. Payment will not be accepted over
the telephone.
|
Adjustments
- Installment payments will be automatically
adjusted to reflect changes in financial aid, housing or enrollment
without prior notice.
Newly
Awarded Financial Aid or Scholarhip
-
- Any newly awarded financial aid processed
through the student's account will be applied to the contract balance
on the account before funds can be refunded.
-
Installment Bills
- Installment bill notifications will be
sent via email to the student at the email address the student has indicated
in his/her "Preferences" in QuikPAY as well as any authorized
payer the student has added to their account. Current installments (due
date is not passed) will appear under the "Time Payment Plan"
section in QuikPAY.
-
Late Fees
- Any installment not received by the due
date will result in the account being subject to a $30 LATE FEE and
being placed in delinquent status. ONCE THE DUE DATE HAS PASSED THE
INSTALLMENT IS CONSIDERED AN OUSTANDING DEBT. This outstanding debt
will prohibit participation in advance registration sessions for the
upcoming semester until the account has been cleared.
-
Outstanding
Debts
- Students who have outstanding debts with
the University will not be permitted to complete registration or obtain
transcripts until the outstanding debts are satisfied. In addition,
debts owed to the University that are not paid on a timely basis will
be forwarded to a collection agency or the NYS Attorney General's office
for collection and are subject to collection cost, penalties and interest,
and the debt is reported to credit bureaus.
